I am a chemical engineer by education and training. After retiring as a chemical engineer, I decided to brush up on my Sanskrit and use my familiarity with Indian culture, history and metaphysics to study and translate ancient Indian writings for Western as well as Indian readers. I decided to read, understand and translate the Mahābhārata for its obvious importance among ancient Indian writings. My interest in astronomy, history, anthropology, and linguistics were of big help to me as a translator of this ancient work.
